So, as a knitter, I've been stymied on the cute baby projects. (Have you seen these booties?!) I made a couple things for Squirt when I was pregnant, but nothing really exciting, nothing I still want to claim. But now, I have a pregnant friend! And, if I'm reaching, I have a pregnant acquaintance, too!
Baby knits galore!
I cast on for another pair of socks Sunday. The yarn is lovely, with very short runs of each color, so I wanted to choose a pattern that wouldn't be overwhelmed by it. This pattern is Welt Fantastic from Sensational Knitted Socks. It's meant for self-striping yarns, which this is obviously not, but I figured it would hold up to the variegation pretty well. There were a few on Ravelry that looked good, anyway.
But I'm not sure I like the sock. I keep knitting and waiting to decide one way or another. I'll probably get the whole sock done and decide to rip it, which will sort of piss me off, but that's what I get for indecisiveness, huh?

i play alot of "knit n' rip" with socks for the same reason. i made jaywalkers with lorna's laces, and they came out pretty cool... maybe it's the texture AND the color changes that's bothering you? i think they're okay, though...
you could always make a baby sweater with the sock yarn!
The yarn is pretty so if you rip apart the sock, I'm sure you will find something else to make with it.
I am currently in the middle of EVERYONE I know being pregnant. I guess we do wait a little longer here seeing that I'm almost 34 (or as I like to say "on the verge of the 5th anniversary of my 29th birthday").
