The curse has lifted.

Jess (aka WingedSheep): If you're reading this, stop. Just go about your business as usual. You don't want to ruin your surprise, do you? ;)

So. We all know about the knitting/blogging dry spell lately. I decided a quick one-skein project would help with that--a nice little tea cozy for my Cupp'a Tea swap partner. What could be quicker, right?

(I'm guessing you all see where this is going. You're much brighter than I am.)

I picked out a pattern and some bulky yarn and got to work. The pattern (Vine Lace Cozy) called for worsted held double, but I have some nice Rowan Big Wool in a pretty green that I thought would work. The gauge was the same, after all.

I tried it and frogged it and tried it and frogged it and tried it and frogged it. I just couldn't get the stitch pattern to work out. So then I found a different pattern and pulled out some green Cascade 220. I hated that pattern, but it didn't stop me from knitting and frogging it a couple of times too.

In the end, I broke down and made the vine lace with the 220 held double. I don't know why I was so against it, but it sort of became the principle of the thing. Then my principles failed me and everything worked out. I'm not sure what sort of moral that is for this story, but there you have it.

(Another note: The cozy color is way off in this picture. The only teapot I have that would work with it is also green, but the two shades aren't very happy together.)

Jody! I love it! Sorry it took so long, but I've had that sort of fixation on a yarn and it seems to take me forever to give up. But the results are beautiful. Soooo, what next?
