The FO round up

Wow, I've been knitting a lot lately. Here's where we stand on the FOs:

My favoritest, bestest cowl ever--I love these colors. In reality, the cowl's a bit too drapey and not high enough for me, but the colors just make me happy. So I don't care.

Details:
cast on: Dec 6
finished: Dec 7
pattern: Gloria Cowl
needles: US 8
yarn: Knit Picks Imagination Handpainted Sock, colorway Wicked Witch (held double)
mods: none

After the cowl, I was going to kick back with the socks or the Seascape, both of which have been languishing ... until I remembered my friend Rebecca. My friend Rebecca who's going to pop any day now with her first kid.

Details:
cast on: Dec 12
finished: Dec 14
pattern: Miittens from the new Knitty
needles: US 3
yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease in lake and taupe
mods: My gauge was waaaaay off for the first mitt, so I started over knitting the preemie directions to get the 0-6 month size. That worked out well. The pattern is so ridiculously cute; that baby had better not make them look bad. Ha! (One word of warning, though. If you, like me, have the sense of humor of a 14-year-old boy, the work in progress will make you giggle. I highly recommend not knitting these in public. Trust me.)

Then a hat for him.

Details:
cast on: Dec 15
finished Dec 16
pattern: Umbilical Cord Baby Hat from Stitch 'n Bitch
needles: US 7
yarn: more of the Cotton-Ease
mods: I used the Random Stripe Generator to come up with a stripe sequence so I could incorporate both colors from the mitts.

I've also finished Monkey's bolero, but since that just happened this morning, there aren't any photos of her in it yet. I'll save those for the next post.

(Fine. In the interest of full disclosure, I also just bought a metric ton of Malabrigo from Annie Amelia. It was on sale! One cannot simply pass up Malabrigo for $8.50 a skein. Even when one has been Christmas shopping. I'm going to make the Pfeiffer Falls Hooded Scarf with it. Yippee!!)

Damn you, Jody! I now have four skeins of Malabrigo in my shopping cart and I'm trying sooooo hard not to click buy.

Anyway, the mittens are just too funny. I hope you get a picture of the baby in them (preferably playing the wii). Love the hat, cowl, everything. I did a bunch of minis in those very colors, but one of them could have been yours! Just wait until I get flat Jody.

Heh. I agree with you about the miittens right after you get the lining finished. Glad to see you made them out of Cotton-Ease. I just started a pair in Peaches and Creme. I don't like the way the ribbing is coming out so I'm going to go down a needle-size.
